Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has created a software package to help students, faculty and staff get the campus information they need. The College Navigation (CNAV) project tailors what the individual sees and has access to based on the individual’s role on campus. The system is secure and information available can be controlled by the appropriate people. Students can access information on other students, courses, events, faculty and much more. Faculty can also access student information, and can see and monitor advisees’ academic data. Web pages can be linked to CNAV so that additional descriptions and other pertinent information can be made available. CNAV comprises an Oracle database, a modified search engine and cgi scripts.0
