Article Type: Editorial From: International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Volume 30, Issue 5
It is an honour and a privilege to be the new Editor in Chief for the International Journal of Operations & Production Management (IJOPM). It is my chief aim to ensure that the reputation of the journal is enhanced still further and that we continue to build on the excellent work undertaken by the former editorial team – Professor Andrew Taylor and Professor Margaret Taylor – whose contribution to the journal was first class and highly appreciated by the new team.
I am joined within the editorial team by Professor Roger Maull, Dr Harry Maddern and Dr Andi Smart. Dr Smart will be responsible for all special issues for the journal.
The scope of the journal has been rewritten to reflect the changing role of operations management in what are now volatile and complex business environments. Since, global economies increasingly depend upon services we encourage both manufacturing and service papers to be submitted. We welcome papers in a number of areas that are well written and which will be of interest to our wide audience. The editorial team is committed to ensuring that IJOPMmaintains its high-quality reputation by publishing excellent papers, which have impact, and that are of interest to academics and practitioners.
