The Potential for EDP in Distribution

The past few years have seen a very marked downward trend in the costs of data processing equipment, particularly for the “heart” of such systems—the logic circuits and storage, where component costs have dropped by 75% over the past 15 years. (This drop is not, of course, directly reflected in the overall cost, because peripheral and input/output units with a high mechanical content have not come down so dramatically in price.)
