The above “stroking” was done by a woman to a man. If a man had done that to a woman, would it have been acceptable? Probably not. Various movements which are mostly well-meant and very necessary have some unfortunate side-effects. Some actions which are also well-meant now become unacceptable because they are tainted with negativity arising from their association with truly unacceptable behaviour. Much of the change is for the better; it just sweeps up some unfortunate change in its wake.
