The Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) is introducing productivity improvement services for the knitwear industry with financial support from European Union (EU).

The BKMEA and the EU have signed an agreement to implement a project titled Capacity Building of the Knitwear Sector through Productivity Improvement– initially this is a one-year project.

More than 30 people will undergo training for nine months to develop their capacity as productivity experts. More than half of these trained persons will join a central “productivity cell” which will offer charged services to organisations and others will be employed directly in knitting factories.
