The CanoScan FS2710 is a 35mm and Advanced Photo System film scanner for the home, small office and corporate business user. This latest addition to the award-winning range of Canon film and flatbed scanners offers high performance,high quality and high resolution, yet maintains Canon's reputation for value-for-money. The CanoScan FS2710 utilises the proven expertise of Canon's photographic and computer products development team. Canon's own Xenon fluorescent lamp technology achieves a natural colour reproduction. It requires no warm-up time and ensures crisp, even illumination to produce top quality scans with accurate colour and fine detail reproduction - even in shadowed or strongly highlighted areas. A clean scan is ensured with the addition of a cover which prevents dust from collecting on the emulsion being scanned. Bundled with this new film scanner, Canon has included the latest version of Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 LE. A 12-bit output to PhotoShop enables the scanner to capture detailed shadow and highlights. The CanoScan FS2710 comes with a Macintosh PhotoShop plug-in module and the PC-compatible CanoCraft FS 3.6 driver as standard. Designed for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT4.0 operating systems, this enables transfers of 36-bit colour images to Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 LE. The CanoCraft software offers more control of the scanning process and allows simpler manipulation of the gamma, brightness, contrast, white point and black point of the scanned images.
