Aviation Partners Boeing (APB) and Aviation Partners Inc. (API) are transforming the aviation industry with unique Blended Winglet Systems which reduces drag, improves range, boosts performance and provides environmental benefits. Today, more than 60 per cent of the Gulfstream II fleet, along with 65 Boeing BBJs and 110 Next-Generation Boeing 737s are equipped with distinctive,wind-sail-like, Blended Winglets. "A Blended Winglet equipped airplane is aerodynamically cleaner. It flies more efficiently and uses its engines less than an aircraft without winglets", explains APB CEO Joe Clark. "Today,we're looking at Blended Winglet retrofits to a potential universe of 10,500 Boeing transports, in addition to new business jet programs under development". Operators of European-based Next-Generation Boeing 737-700/800s have been leading the change to Blended Winglet performance-enhancing technology. In Europe, Blended Winglet launch customers include Hapag-Lloyd and Air Berlin, in Germany; Lauda Air, in Austria; Air Europa, in Spain; Neos, in Italy; Pegasus Airlines, in Turkey; and Travel Service, in the Czech Republic. For all of these operators, the environmental benefits of a 6.5 per cent reduced noise footprint and a 5 per cent decrease in engine emissions, have been as important as the 4 per cent plus additional range.
