Making e‐mail secure Available to Purchase

Reveals that the use of e‐mail has grown dramatically in the last three years, however, it is a relatively insecure transmission medium, unsuitable, in any unmodified form, for sensitive managers. The PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) program which has been developed to add encryption to e‐mail is well known. Reports on the working of such encryption programmes and ways in which such encryption can be integrated into mainstream e‐mail packages so that it is available to non‐specialist users ‐ bearing mind the need for adherence to (at least) de facto standards and the necessity for good documentation in support of easy‐to‐use software.
