In India, as in other parts of the developing world, good, irrigable,agricultural land is being turned over to other commercial uses. As the stock of good land decreases, there are inevitably calls for farmers to be more productive with the land still under crop. Tamil Nadu Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor Dr C Ramasamy has called for farmers to make more extensive and more effective use of technology.
