UK Public Sector Cuts necessary and possible

Junior staff in UK local authorities are, on average, productive only 32 percent of the time during working hours, says management consultancy Knox D’Arcy following a survey of 1,855 workers. This compares with an average of 44 percent in the private sector.

This means that proposed cuts and efficiencies – already starting to bite – should be easily achievable if these public sector workers can be“brought up to” private sector levels.
