Social productivity in the Philippines

The Department of Social Welfare and Development and Department of Agriculture of the Philippines have committed to the promotion of agricultural productivity projects that would provide sustainable livelihood for poor families in Northern Samar.
The program aims to promote agricultural productivity projects that would provide sustainable livelihood and jobs and help develop the skills necessary to increase employment opportunities for those engaged in the production of coconut, sugar, rice/corn, and those living in coastal communities.
The program also seeks to ensure that the children of the beneficiaries will continue to go to school and enjoy good health even after the five-year period of their enrolment in the program.
Under the Cash-for-Work (CFW) scheme, beneficiaries will be paid the prevailing regional wage for working in paddy dikes, irrigation canals and service roads in underdeveloped and unutilised but potential rice/agriculture fields.
