Bank on it

Low cost online banking recently became a reality for NatWest's small business customers with the launch of a new PC banking package NatWest On-Line which complements NatWest BankLine Business Manager, launched last November. These new services give customers the ability to control their finances, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from the comfort of their office or home, freeing up valuable time so that they can get on with running their business. The comprehensive account management service offered by both packages allows customers to check balances and recent transactions, transfer money between accounts and pay bills. NatWest On-Line is designed for businesses where only one person is required to sign instructions and the business owner would like access to business and personal banking through one service. Both NatWest On-Line and NatWest BankLine Business Manager allow users to download bank account information to a wide range of popular financial management packages such as Sage, Microsoft Money and Quicken, taking away the need to input each entry manually. This allows data to be transferred accurately to the relevant spreadsheet and means no more wasted time checking for possible keying errors or "ticking back" statement entries. For NatWest On-Line, there is a one-off set-up fee of £30 per user and also an annual service fee of £25 per business, paid in arrears. Personal accounts can be accessed free of charge through the same service. There is a 30-day free trial, a 24-hour helpdesk (using a freephone number) and opportunity to give online feedback
