When is it on?
When is it on?
I have a new digital dictation gadget. I press a (reasonably large) red button to start dictating and press it again to pause (while I think). Unfortunately, my old, trusty, anlogue machine had one button to start, and another to pause/stop. So – being an old dog – I get confused and end up with my one piece of dictation being split into many files – and my PA tearing her hair out. I know it should not be difficult to change – but when I dictate I want to concentrate on the work – not on the process of dictation. Could not suppliers standardise on an agreed, common set of controls. After all, now when I get into a car, I know where all the major controls are– and they all work in the same way. Even in a strange, hire car, I can concentrate on the driving, not on the car.
