Exide Australia Pty Ltd recently earned a Supplier Excellence Award for 2001 from Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL). Mitsubishi Motors presents this award to the company that has shown the highest standards of quality, on-time delivery, packaging, customer service and support. Exide Technologies also participated in value analysis and provided ongoing cost reductions during the year. "Earning the Supplier Excellence Award represents a significant achievement in the pursuit of excellence", said Tom Philips, Managing Director of MMAL. A large number of Mitsubishi suppliers vie for the recognition. This recognition follows on from the earlier award of Mitsubishi's Supplier Quality Performance (SQP) "A" class rating for Exide's Elizabeth manufacturing facility for the period July through December 2000."Continuous improvement is an integral part of the global strategy of Exide Technologies", said Craig Muhlhauser, President and Chief Operating Officer of Exide Technologies.
