POLYCOM has introduced the SoundPoint IP 500 desktop phone supporting leading protocols, including MGCP, H.323 and Cisco SCCP. It offers users access to familiar telephony features, whether already on a specific IP platform or transitioning to IP from a traditional PBX. It adds full duplex speakerphone performance, a two-port 10/100 Ethernet switch, and support for XML application services delivered by an IP telephony call management server. The phone has a large 160 x 80 dot display and its user interface offers dedicated, one-button access to telephony features.
