Just the ticket

SchlumbergerSema has completed the roll-out of its mobile ticketing solution across the UK National Express rail network. Lines include: the Gatwick Express,Midland mainline, C2C, Central Trains, Wales and Borders and SilverLink. Schlumberger's AVANTIX mobile technology will enable ticket inspectors to access information about fares and timetables across the country as well as sell tickets for travel on any part of the national rail network from their handheld device. Inspectors will also be able to print magnetically-encrypted tickets that will be able to open station barriers and there are plans to add smart card facilities for contactless ticket travel.
