Retraction notice: A dynamic digital twin-based health monitoring method for steel structures integrating multi-source sensing and intelligent algorithms

The publisher of International Journal of Structural Integrity wishes to retract the article Zeng Q, Liu K (2025), “A dynamic digital twin-based health monitoring method for steel structures integrating multi-source sensing and intelligent algorithms”. It has come to our attention that a large portion of this article is taken, without full and proper attribution, from an earlier work by Matteo Torzoni, Marco Tezzele, Stefano Mariani, Andrea Manzoni, Karen E. Willcox, A digital twin framework for civil engineering structures, Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, Volume 418, Part B, 2024, 116584, ISSN 0045-7825, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cma.2023.116584. Additional investigation has also revealed that generative AI was used in the creation of the bibliography in breach of Emerald’s policies on authorship and AI, and that that a significant number of the works referenced do not exist or feature incorrect, broken, or irrelevant citation information. The decision to retract has been informed by COPE's guidelines on retractions and Emerald's publishing ethics. Emerald’s editorial and originality policy guidelines make it clear that work submitted should be original, not infringe any existing copyright, or be currently under consideration for publication by any other journal or publication. Emerald’s AI and authorship policies also make it clear that authorship is a fundamental aspect of transparency in the publication process and ensures accountability and responsibility for reported research. The publisher of the journal sincerely apologizes to the readers.
