CONSIDERABLE EXPERIENCE has been obtained in operation of larger industrial stationary gas turbines during the last decade. The makers utilise basically the same lubrication system for gas turbines as they use for their steam turbines, but some differences have to be made in view of the higher temperatures encountered. We describe here a typical lubrication system for a 5,000 h.p. regenerative‐cycle, two‐shaft gas turbine made by the Westinghouso Electric Corporation in their Philadelphia plant and suitable for power plant mechanical drive.
