The uses of silicone compounds in lubrication have been referred to in our columns in several articles. The range of Dow Corning silicones known as DC 200 Fluids have uses in the lubrication field but possibly more important applications just outside this field in addition to many non‐lubrication uses, In connection with lubrication they are used as foam inhibitors, mould release agents, hydraulic fluids, etc. Other uses are as water repellant insulating materials for sealing ignition systems and high frequency communications equipment, laminating and bonding resins, impregnating varnishes for use with insulating materials such as glass, mica, asbestos, and a variety of special uses.
