Antifriction bearings are precision‐manufactured units and as this article shows, a deal of care is given to cleanliness during every stage of machining from feed‐in of tube to final packing. This should be remembered by everyone concerned with fitting these bearings. One gritty particle during assembly into a machine negatives all the good work done by the manufacturer.
