As usual we publish in this issue papers from many different parts of the world. Workers in China, India, Poland and Eritrea have contributed to this issue.

The biggest problem for the Industrial Lubrication and Tribologyeditorial team is trying to accommodate the increasing number of papers submitted but at the same time increasing the quality of the work published in the journal.

Next year, we are planning a small increase in the number of papers published to try and relieve the backlog of papers waiting to be published. However, we appreciate that the popularity and value of publishing your work in ILTdoes mean that a delay is unavoidable between the submission of the paper and its final publication.

For a major part of this time each paper is under review by our Editorial Panel. This is time consuming work but is highly valued by the editorial staff as we know that this work is instrumental in continuing to raise the standard of the papers accepted for publication. In turn this will give an enhanced recognition to authors whose work is included in ILT.

If you are active in the field of tribology and have suitable experience then perhaps you may want to consider becoming a reviewer for ILT. We are always interested in hearing from anyone who would like to become involved in this activity.

As this is the last issue of ILT in 2007, we hope that this year has been interesting and rewarding for you and perhaps we can be one of the first to give you our best wishes for 2008.
