IN our issue for July, 1952, we reported a visit to Fulmer Hall, a beautiful old country house in Buckinghamshire, which had just been taken over by Monsanto Chemicals Ltd., for their new laboratories and H.Q. of their applicational research section. We described their new engine testing laboratory, and referred also to the other valuable work that was to be done there for various industries. Valuable work certainly has been done at Fulmer, and is still being done, but the volume of work now coming under such titles as Applicational Research, Research and Development, etc., has expanded enormously during the past five or six years and Fulmer Hall is not going to be big enough to contain this development for much longer.
