SINCE WORLD WAR II considerable development has been seen in the manufacture of lubricating grease and in the ingredients used in its production. For instance, lithium grease was relatively unknown before the war, during which it was developed and highly approved for and by the American Air Force and has since become extremely popular in the multi‐purpose range of greases for industrial, automotive and farm use. One of the latest developments in the search that is continually taking place for improvement of product and price is the possible use of rapeseed oil as a promising fat for this purpose. An article on this appears in this issue.
