THE use of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as a bearing material is not new, in fact its lubricating properties of low friction have been known for many years. Modern methods of incorporating it into bearing surfaces continue to expand and one can rightly state that PTFE continues to be a most valuable tribological material.
