THE old 1911 Stanley Steam car illustrated still runs efficiently and is owned by Mr. Dennis Brookes of Mirfield, Yorkshire. To reduce scale formation in the boiler, Moly‐Paul Grade 1004 (a colloidal dispersion of 10 per cent graphite in water) is added to the feed water. This product is normally used as a lubricant for critical metal forming operations such as forging titanium and stainless steel. It also helps to lubricate this engine since the graphite is carried with the steam to the cylinders.
