Nasurf update

Keyword: Nasurf

After over two years of successful operation DERA and the NASURF Advisory Board are pleased to announce that NASURF is being restructured to give greater emphasis to its members' needs and to the more general needs of UK industry, where Surface Engineering gives many products their competitive edge.

In taking this action they have the support of the DTI sponsors.

It is intended to appoint a full-time Director from within the Surface Engineering Industry, to be in post by November 1998. John McCarroll, who as Director has done so much to establish NASURF and its services, left on the expiration of his part-time contract on 31 July.

In the interim NASURF will continue to service its members and to deal with help-line enquiries in the normal way.

The NASURF Annual Conference, originally planned for October, will now take place after the appointment of a new Director. Other events and publication schedules remain unchanged.

Until the new Director is in place, policy and related issues should be referred to Colin Gostelow, the NASURF Project Manager, on +44 (0)1252-392450.

General and technical enquiries should continue to be addressed to the NASURF Local Helpline on +44(0)345 NASURF (627873) or faxed to +44 (0)1252-395000.

Membership and Sponsorship enquiries should be addressed to Dr Nicholas Farmilo, NASURF Membership &Marketing Manager, on +44 (0)1252-392425
