The year to end‐September, 1970, was a good one for British Oxygen Company in terms of both sales and profit improvement, but probably more important, in terms of the improvement in the return on net capital employed. The latter must still, however, continue to receive considerable attention even though for the first time in at least 12 years each £1 of capital employed in 1970 produced more than £1 of sales.
