Stanley Alderson takes a sympathetic look at trade union resistance to changes in the law concerning picketing, pointing out that, historically, the judiciary has consistently tried to undermine this form of sanction during a dispute. Alderson puts forward a number of suggestions to help clarify the present legislation and calls for the removal of the 100‐year‐old conspiracy law.
