Union leader Roy Grantham, disgruntled by what he sees as lack of information given by many managements during wage negotiations, is planning a showdown. In the event of a talks deadlock, he is prepared to make public confidential company details—to which his clerical and computer staff have access—if he thinks it's in the interests of members and shareholders. Chris Phillips sees this as a potentially explosive tactic at a time when certain provisions of disclosure are due to become law.
