Organisers of a major industrial exhibition held recently in Sao Paulo were so bucked by Brazilian enthusiasm for British products that they predict a five‐fold increase in UK‐Brazilian trade by the end of the decade. But while this development‐hungry nation admires British skill and know‐how, the age‐old problem of broken delivery dates dampens much of the optimism, reports John Bingham.
