In the endless discussion of Britain's industrial decline everyone from Prince Charles and Margaret Thatcher to Len Murray and the TUC has emphasised the importance of the manager's role. Yet managers as a group increasingly believe that their worth is unrecognised in terms of status and rewards. Whether or not this is a primary cause we are increasingly seeing that new phenomenon, the unionised manager. What is the future for the Unionised Manager? How is it affected by all the changes around us, in particular the European outlook now being forced upon us?
