FOR some years now the high cost of telephone calls has been a source of concern to management and considerable effort has been expended in companies across the country in order to save a small percentage of this cost. The action is to be applauded, but at the same time points to a curious anomaly in management thinking. For the very companies that are so concerned about overheads like this are happily ignoring a far more serious problem, that of energy wastage in our factories.
