AROUND one million tonnes of zinc are used each year throughout the world in making zinc die castings. The range of uses for these castings is enormous — from zip fasteners to car radiator grilles, and from toy motor cars to computer parts. In fact wherever large numbers of identical accurate components with a good surface finish are needed, pressure die casting in zinc alloy is likely to provide the most economical answer.
