The study on the dragonfly’s wings and the structural colors

The authors observed the surface and transection of dragonflies and demonstrated that the surface of dragonflies is a submicrometer multilayer system. The authors showed that the different colors of wing are attributed to multilayer interference, which is confirmed by a finite-difference time domain simulation.
