This paper provides a review of the structural problems regarding repair and refurbishment of the Elevated Harrow Road (westbound). The step-by-step approach taken to investigate the causes of the defects and for the development of the successful repair strategy is examined. The problems faced by the city council, consultant and contractor leading to the adopted solutions, culminated in the successful delivery of a complex repair to a concrete structure which supports one of the key highway routes out of central London.
