Timely strategic actions are crucial for businesses to maintain competitiveness and adaptability in rapidly changing markets. This study aims to develop a comprehensive model that not only helps businesses identify and respond to competitive threats but also leverages opportunities in a dynamic environment.
This paper uses a conceptual approach to develop the model. The researchers conducted a thorough review of relevant literature, which informed the formulation of the proposed model.
Inspired by human behavioral responses to threats, this model segments strategic management into three stages: observe, resist and react. Each stage is designed to equip businesses with the necessary tools for proactive and reactive engagement in competitive markets. The model emphasizes continuous environmental scanning, strategic assessment and dynamic response mechanisms, aiming to fortify businesses against threats while capitalizing on opportunities.
The proposed model offers businesses a structured framework for navigating competition. It provides step-by-step guidance on implementing strategic actions to compete in the market effectively.
Numerous strategic management models exist that are highly effective; however, many of these models address only certain aspects of competitive strategy. None provides a comprehensive solution for facing competition in its entirety. In contrast, the model proposed in this paper equips businesses with the tools to make informed decisions, enabling them to confront competition holistically.
