Robert Stephenson – the eminent engineer edited by Michael Bailey, published by Ashgate Publishing, 2003, reviewed by Peter Cross-Rudkin. First full-scale biography of Stephenson to appear for more than 40 years – acknowledged as one of the leaders of his profession in the 19th century, this book does full justice to the man and his works.
Partnering and collaborative working by David Jones, David Savage and Rona Westgate, published by Informa (UK), 2003, reviewed by Mark Rudrum, Arup. A practical legal perspective on partnering in the construction industry, including a useful comparison of various ‘standard’ forms of agreement.
