It has come to the attention of the Publisher that the cover (online version), article title, figure 1 caption, and introduction, all reference ‘Londonderry’.
Due to the potential political sensitivities surrounding this naming convention, it has been agreed by the authors and Editor-in-Chiefs of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers – Civil Engineering that the appropriate amendments should be made to the manuscript to reference ‘Derry∼Londonderry’.
The following corrections have now been made to the article:
The title has changed from ‘North West Transport Hub: a new life for Londonderry’s 150-year-old Waterside Station’ to ‘North West Transport Hub: a new life for Derry∼Londonderry’s 150-year-old Waterside Station’. This has also been reflected on the online cover.
The caption for Figure 1 has changed from ‘The original Waterside Station in Londonderry was built around 1875’ to ‘The original Waterside Station in Derry∼Londonderry was built around 1875’.
The introduction has changed from ‘Londonderry, also known as Derry, is in the north-west region…’ to Derry∼Londonderry is in the north-west region…’
