Some time ago a meeting was called of members of Aslib with a view to the formation of an Economic Group on the lines of other ‘sectional’ activities which had already been pursued. The discussion unavoidably digressed into attempts to analyse the meaning of the term ‘economic’ and the dividing line which distinguishes ‘economic’ publications from commercial, scientific, or professional literature.
