In February 2014, a leak through a subsidiary canal reservoir embankment at Boddington in Warwickshire was identified. A precautionary drawdown was started in accordance with the Canal & River Trust's On-site Emergency Plan. A temporary repair was carried out the same day. Trial excavations were undertaken under the supervision of a qualified civil engineer to investigate the leakage paths and a permanent repair was then carried out.
