Practicalities of risk assessment for supervising engineers

This paper aims to demystify risk assessment, and shows how panel engineers can use risk-assessment techniques in the process of assessing the safety of a dam; in fact, how we all use risk-assessment techniques in our everyday lives. It focuses on the value of risk assessment to a supervising engineer, as well as the value a supervising engineer should add to the risk-assessment process.
