Scammonden dam: an unique structure Available to Purchase

In a cooperative exercise that was unique at the time in this country, legal, political, administrative and engineering problems had to be overcome to combine the construction of the M62 with a dam across the Scammonden valley. This paper gives an insight into the design and construction of the dam and provides an update from the article published in the first issue of British National Commission on Large Dams News and Views, 1967.
