The valve and operating system had reached the end of its asset life and the tower was showing signs of structural distress. The wet tower arrangement required a full drawdown of the reservoir basin to allow surveys of the valve, pipework and tower condition. A pro-active silt management system was required to discharge into the downstream watercourse that flows into sinkholes.
