I am very pleased that I have now completed my 3 year period as Editor in Chief of Emerging Materials Research. Under my leadership, the journal rose from the fourth to the third quartile of key index Scopus and the impact factor also increased (1.795). During the period of my editorship, the journal’s website averaged over 7000 PDF downloads per month, peaking at 11 000 in November 2021. I think that all of these are sufficient indicators to show the positive contribution I have made to the journal. Of course, I am thankful to all of the team, including editorial board authors, reviewers and also editorial staff.
This is our last issue in 2022 for Emerging Materials Research. In this issue we have 12 valuable papers where important information has been published in material science and their applications.
