Ludger Weber earned his Engineering diploma in Materials Science and Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland in 1994 and his PhD in the Electronic Engineering Department of ETH Zurich in 1997. During the same year, he joined the Laboratory for Mechanical Metallurgy at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland where he is currently a lecturer and group leader.
