Further to the publication of this paper in Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Engineering and Computational Mechanics, 2008, 161, No. 3, 151–153, the following amendment should be made

On page 153, paragraph two, line eight, the sentence that reads: ‘…power of modern desktop PCs is such that up to around 21 000 000 000 different layouts…’ should read ‘…power of modern desktop PCs is such that up to around 2^{1 000 000 000} different layouts…’.
