This paper analyses the construction history of the Membrío Bridge over the Salor River in the province of Cáceres, Spain. It is a public construction of unclear origin, which has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The text collects the known information, taken from historical sources and from other previous scientific studies, and, based on them, establishes a possible sequence of the successive structures that have existed there. It also provides data clarifying its probable Roman origin.
