This study investigates the integration of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Qatar’s healthcare industry, aligning with the nation’s goals to lower emissions by addressing renewable energy adoption challenges. Utilising a quantitative approach, the research involved surveying healthcare professionals to pinpoint key elements affecting solar PV system implementation. The findings highlight barriers including institutional, financial, technical, and social aspects, with policy gaps and financial limitations—such as high upfront and running costs—identified as major obstacles. Contrary to common beliefs, the research revealed a lesser impact from aspects stakeholder readiness and concerns over system dependability. Examining more than 15 factors, the study emphasises the necessity of strong policyframeworks and financial mechanisms to boost solar PV system uptake. This research provides critical insights into the nuanced factors influencing renewable energy adoption in healthcare, serving as a crucial guide for policymakers and establishing a foundation for further research that could expand to the wider Gulf region.
