Much of the world's critical infrastructure consists of concrete structures. Cracking is a feature of concrete that, although it does not usually constitute a serious problem, may have adverse impacts on durability, structural integrity, watertightness, sound transmission and aesthetics. This may in turn impact on the serviceability of concrete structures for various reasons.
