Papers published in Geotechnical Engineering are eligible for awards from the Institution of Civil Engineers. Papers from any of the ICE journals can be nominated for several awards. In addition, each journal has awards dedicated to their specific subject area.
On Friday 5 October 2007, ICE president Quentin Leiper will present an award to the following paper published in Geotechnical Engineering in 2006. The editorial panel nominated their best papers and an awards committee chaired by John Burland allocated the awards.
The Crampton Prize, presented for the best paper on geotechnical engineering practice, has been awarded to: Klar A., Bennett P., Soga K., Mair R., Tester P., Fernie R., St John H. and Torp-Peterson G.
